Brown-Forman B: Fiscal Q1 Earnings Snapshot

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) _ Brown-Forman Corporation B (BF.B) on Wednesday reported fiscal first-quarter earnings of $249 million.

The Louisville, Kentucky-based company said it had profit of 52 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 48 cents per share.

The company posted revenue of $1.01 billion in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $983.9 million.

Brown-Forman B shares have risen roughly 1% since the beginning of the year, while the S&P’s 500 index has decreased 16%. The stock has climbed slightly more than 4% in the last 12 months.
