LONDON (AP) — Surrey won English cricket’s County Championship for the 20th time outright Thursday with a match to spare.

The London-based team beat Yorkshire by 10 wickets inside three days at the Oval, with England opener Rory Burns helping Surrey chase the 55 runs needed to clinch victory and the title.

It was Surrey’s first title since 2018 and its first under coach Gareth Batty. The team has won eight of its 13 matches in the red-ball competition, which plays matches over four days.

Surrey’s haul of 20 titles places the team second in England’s all-time list behind Yorkshire, which has 32. Both counties have also shared the title once, Yorkshire in 1940 and Surrey in 1950.
